GARY JAMES JOYNES is a sound artist, vocalist, composer and visual artist from Edmonton, Canada. As CLINKER, his work explores meditative spaces and the kinesthetic and synesthetic effects of sound and visuals.

He has been active in the Live AV and Live Cinema performance community for many years having exhibited and performed works across Canada and internationally.

The last few years have seen his sound and visual work extended into film scoring, analog noise performance as WIND ROSE (solo) and VIPERS WITHOUT VAPOURS (duo with Scott Smallwood), the AV duo VECTOR RAILS ( Adam Tindale - Electronic Drums + Clinker - Analog Modular Synthesizer), and into gallery exhibitions including the creation and release of editioned FREQUENCY PAINTING sound sculpture prints.

OUROBOROS his lastest work featuring the FREQUENCY PAINTING Mandala Series is currently presented in the Koffler Centre of the Arts exhibition SPIN OFF: CONTEMPORARY ART CIRCLING THE MANDALA in Toronto, Canada. 12 TONES... the first iteration of the FREQUENCY PAINTING series premiered in January, 2011 at Latitude 53 Contemporary Visual Culture gallery.
