GARY JAMES JOYNES is a sound artist, vocalist, composer and visual artist from Edmonton, Canada. As CLINKER, his work explores meditative spaces and the kinesthetic and synesthetic effects of sound and visuals.
He has been active in the Live AV and Live Cinema performance community for many years having exhibited and performed his works across Canada and internationally.
The last few years have seen his sound and visual work extended into film scoring, analog noise performance as WIND ROSE (solo) and VIPERS WITHOUT VAPOURS (duo with Scott Smallwood), the AV duo VECTOR RAILS ( Adam Tindale + Clinker), and into gallery installations including the creation and release of editioned FREQUENCY PAINTING sound sculpture prints.
SOUNDBURSTING NO.1 his latest work, is currently being featured in the main space gallery at Harcourt House in Edmonton and runs until April 14, 2012.
