GARY JAMES JOYNES is a sound artist, vocalist, composer and visual artist from Edmonton, Canada. As CLINKER, his work explores meditative spaces and the kinesthetic and synesthetic effects of sound and visuals. He has been active in the Live AV and Live Cinema performance community for many years having exhibited and performed his works across Canada and internationally.


He has more recently embarked on a broader artistic exploration using his analog synthesizers and custom made machines to explore visual sound as photography/drawing/sculpture hybrids along with immersive and unending installation environments for reflection and deeplistening/viewing experiences.


The last few years have also seen his interest in experimental music and adventurous sound works extended into analog noise performance as WIND ROSE (solo) and the collaborative projects VIPERS WITHOUT VAPOURS (with Scott Smallwood), and VECTOR RAILS (with Adam Tindale).
